Careers at West SILC is a meaningful, inclusive and balanced programme of careers education and personal development.
Learning is further enriched through practical activities careers visitors in School and visits to places of work, enterprise projects, next steps event, college visits, enrichment placements (including work experience and supported internships), and a wide range of activities designed to provide a broad, balanced, challenging and inspirational experience. Our approach actively challenges stereotypes and promotes equality of opportunity for all learners.
Activities are personalised to ensure progress in learning and development, and to strengthen students’ motivation, aspirations and attainment. Learners develop an awareness of the diversity of opportunities available in further learning and employment so they can make informed choices based on a clear understanding of their options. Students, parents and carers are supported throughout, ensuring positive progression and successful transitions during the academic and vocational decisions they will make during their time at West SILC and beyond.
