POWRHOUSE LIFE CHANGING PATHWAY overview
The Powerhouse Life-Changing (PLC) Pathway is a forward-thinking, inclusive Post-16 curriculum designed to support young people on their journey to adulthood. Rooted in the values of empowerment, independence, dignity, and holistic growth, the program is built around two integrated strands: ‘Learning to Live’, which develops essential life skills such as personal care, budgeting, communication, and emotional regulation, and ‘Learning to Earn’, which prepares learners for employment through vocational training, work placements, and entrepreneurial experiences. State-of-the-art simulated learning environments—The Foundry (employment skills) and The Hub (independent living skills)—offer hands-on, real-world contexts for practical learning. A personalised, experiential teaching approach ensures learners’ needs and aspirations are met, especially those with SEMH needs. The program also offers supported internships, including partnerships with businesses like Amazon, providing invaluable work experience in inclusive environments. Ultimately, the PLC Pathway empowers students to lead fulfilling lives by equipping them with the skills, confidence, and opportunities to thrive independently and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
