CREATIVE ARTS AT WEST SILC

Creative Arts at West SILC (Art, Design & Technology and Music) is designed to be fully inclusive, offering personalised and meaningful creative experiences for all learners across every pathway (with the exception of PLC). The curriculum supports communication, emotional wellbeing, sensory regulation and independence, ensuring all pupils can engage in expressive and practical activities.

Provision is adapted by pathway: learners in Explore, Engage, Aspire and Connect pathways access creative experiences through exploration and thematic, hands-on activities, while learners in more formal pathways follow structured subject teaching. Older pupils in Elevate and WAIP access adapted mainstream curricula and, where appropriate, work towards formal accreditations.

Overall, Creative Arts has a significant positive impact on pupils’ confidence, communication, self-expression and readiness for future learning and life.
