CLIMB PATHWAY overview
The Climb Pathway provides a semi-formal, personalised curriculum for pupils with moderate to severe learning difficulties, many of whom have additional needs in communication, sensory processing, physical development, or SEMH. Aligned with the National Curriculum, lessons are adapted to individual EHCP targets and delivered through engaging, multi-sensory methods. Pupils benefit from a structured topic cycle, assistive technology, and specialist therapies including sensory integration, hydrotherapy, and Lego Therapy. A dedicated SEMH provision within the pathway offers restorative support and targeted interventions that foster emotional literacy, resilience, and readiness for learning. The curriculum incorporates core academic subjects, life skills, PSHE/RSE, and enrichment experiences, such as daily snack cafés, Discovery Clubs, and the ‘Every Child Should’ programme. In KS4, pupils engage in enterprise and work-related learning to develop independence and prepare for adulthood. With a strong focus on emotional wellbeing, communication, and functional skills, the Climb Pathway empowers learners to thrive in school and beyond.
